The Hellenic Region of Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), presents Junior & Youth Ballet troupes in the ballet performance OPUS 8.

Assistant choreographer is Ms. Irina Akrioti, while the choreographer of the performance is Mr. Renato Zanella, director of the Greek National Ballet who had this to say about the work:

It is definitely a challenge to work with young people especially when they are very hungry to work as my experience with the RAD has shown.

The possibility to mix classical ballet with more modern movements was the idea behind this creation. It was also important for me that humour and a touch of entertaining should frame the entire Opus.

I decided to make a selection of Viennese music of the 19th century especially created by Johann Strauss that with his freshness and dynamic is adaptable to any kind of creative movements.

Opus 8 is a bouquet of dance that doesn’t tell a story but situations expressing always Joy of dancing and joy of living.

I thank the RAD for the invitation and the enormous number of students that came to the audition with the wish to participate in this project.

I thank as well my assistant Irina for the care and professionalism she brought to the students and the precision to teach my style.
