Athens Childrens Ballet

For the past three years Athens Children’s Ballet creates the most imaginative and qualitative classical ballet performances for kids and teens.

Athens Children’s Ballet (ACB)

Athens Children’s Ballet presents classical ballet repertoire in two acts, giving the chance to young dancers from all over Greece to gain experience and knowledge through the preparation for a professional performance.  The company’s main goal is to reward the most talented kids/teens offering scholarships for attendance at professional European dance schools such as The Royal Ballet and English National Ballet.

Also, ACB does not forget that joy is a privilege of every single child, that’s why it strongly believes in social contribution, especially in these difficult times.  Therefore, alongside the creative work, Athens Children’s Ballet, as a non – profit organization, visits orphanages and presents short excerpts from the latest company’s works, always offering a fairy-tale of magic and smiles to children.

To date, Athens Children's Ballet has presented Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs (2013) and Cinderella (2014), which have been attended by more than 3,000 spectators.

Creator and Artistic Director

Christina Roka, ACB’s creator and artistic director, gets inspired by the kids themselves

...teaching children with such passion, thirst for knowledge and talent is honestly a gift and it doesn’t only make you a better teacher but a better person as well.

Choosing this year to present with her company the ballet "Beauty and the Beast" she explains

...it’s a classic, old fairy-tale but at the same time so topical as it focuses on the importance of someone’s internal cultivation, love, solidarity… and finally how little importance is wealth if you cannot share it with others and find true love.
